Lt Col GJP De Silva

Lt Col Prasantha De Silva was born on 09^th March 1975 and was educated at St. Thomas College Bandarawela and Gankanda National College Pelmadulla. He was enlisted to regular intake 48 of the Sri Lanka Army on 04^th June 1998. Having successful completion of his military training at Sri Lanka Military Academy, He was Commissioned on 17^th June 2000 and posted to the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. During his Military career he was served in several command, staff and instructional appointments, Troop Commander, Adjutant, ADC, Officer Commanding of 71 Field squadron, Second in Command of 11 field Engineer Regiment, Staff Officer II Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, Kotelawala Defence University, Chief Instructor of Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering, Commanding officer 12 Field Engineer Regiment, General Staff Officer I 56 Infantry Division. He has followed several overseas courses in India, Bangladesh and Malaysia. Also he has officially visited Slovakia, Croatia and Slovenia during his service. He has obtained Master of Management from Kotelawala Defence University.
