It is with great pleasure that I issue this meesage to the website of the Faculty of Graduate Studies of General Sir John Koletalawala Defence University (KDU), Sri Lanka. Over the past 15 years, the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), KDU has been dedicated to provide high quality postgraduate education, training and research, through more than 15 Masters and Research degree programs in several academic fields. 

The role of our Faculty is to support graduate students, in pursuit of a personal, professional and academic experience second to none. We ensure a transparent, consistent and equitable administration of postgraduate programs, fair evaluation and quality assurance of postgraduate programs, assistance with individual student problems, and the provision of opportunities for professional development of graduate students, as well as the academic staff of the university in their role as supervisors.

I am delighted to state that currently the KDU has a postgraduate community of over … in numbers, comprising of both local and foreign students. The FGS obtain the service of subject experts for teaching in our programmes from both within and outside the university. The FGS offers excellent facilities and resources for delivering the programmes. The university further offers outstanding services and hospitality, and ensures safety, towards the foreign students creating a homely environment for peaceful learning.
