Admission

You will find the postgraduate degree programmes available with us, in this website under "Programmes".  Details about each degree programme, including the eligibility criteria and course fees are listed there. 

We have established the minimum admission requirements common to all applicants. Check first if you can meet those absolute minimums for the programme you are interested in. Kindly note that meeting the minimum eligibility requirement is not a guarantee that you will be admitted.

How to Apply

  • 1. Choose a course

    Find your ideal master"s course after checking the details from our website.

  • 2. Check the entry requirements

    On the web page for the course you"ve chosen, look at the eligibility criteria and make sure you have the qualifications and experience you need to apply.

  • 3. Check the application deadline

    For Masters programmes applications are called in annually. You can find the deadline for applying on the web page for each course.

  • 4. Submit your application

    You can apply online using the link given in our website. You can also submit the application to the FGS in person. Make sure to submit he completed application along with the supporting documents as required by the programme.

  • 5. Follow up on your application

    After you apply, we will be processing your applications for fulfilling the eligibility requirements, etc. Check you emails regular for updates on the status of your application. Depending on the programme, you may be called in for an interview. You may also check on the progress of your application by contacting the relevant Staff officer assigned for the programme.

  • 6. Accept your offer

    If you are selected for the programme, you will be officially notified by the FGS. When you receive the official letter of acceptance, you can come to FGS and register, as instructed in the letter of acceptance.

You may apply online by clicking the link given below. The application form can also be downloaded from the faculty website under “Downloads”. Ensure to fill up the application with accurate details. 

Copies of your educational, employment certificates and any other supporting documents requested should be submitted along with the application. If you are submitting a hard copy of the application, completed application along with the supporting documents should reach the Senior Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Graduate studies through registered post, or by hand to the academic division of the faculty, on or before the deadline. 

Application fee of Rs 2,000, (MSc programs) and Rs 10,000 (MPhil/PhD programs) can be paid to Account Number 0009405625, Faculty of Graduate Studies, The Bank of Ceylon, Idama Branch, Moratuwa, and the payment slip should be submitted along with the application.

Loan Schemes

If you need help with your finances to pay course fees we are happy to facilitate a loan scheme for you with the Bank of Ceylon KDU-branch at a low interest rate. Contact our Bursar"s Office for more details.
