Joined the Sri Lanka Army on July 2009 and after successful training, Major KP Lakmal was posted to 2nd volunteer regiment of Gamunu watch of the volunteer force of the Sri Lanka Army. During his carrier he has hold several appointments such as Platoon Commander, Intelligent Officer, Adjutant, Company Commander, General staff Officer III of NOCPCO, General Staff Officer II Of the GAOC. Major Lakmal has followed several administrative and Military level courses during his carrier.
