Master of Science in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering

The Department of Electrical, Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University aims to fulfill the need for continuing professional development of engineering professionals by conducting a part-time postgraduate degree in electronics and telecommunication engineering for practicing engineers. The MSc in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering degree was designed to cover the advanced topics in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The graduates of the programme have employment opportunities in a variety of Electronic and telecommunication engineering related disciplines. The duration for the MSc is two academic years comprising four semesters and covers 60 credits including a 20-credit research project.

Eligibility Criteria

Degree of the Bachelor of Science (Defence Studies) or Bachelor of the Science of Engineering of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) in a relevant field of specialization,

OR

Any other Engineering degree of at least four years duration, in a relevant field of specialization, where relevance is acceptable to the BoS, FB/FGS and approved by  the Senate,

OR

Any other Engineering degree of at least three years duration, in a relevant field of specialization, from a recognized University AND a minimum of three years of appropriate experience after obtaining the degree,

OR

Associate Membership or above (satisfying the educational requirements for Corporate Membership or similar graduate membership) of a recognized professional engineering institute in a relevant field as accepted to the BoS, FB/FGS and approved by  the Senate, and a minimum of one year of appropriate experience after obtaining such membership.
